We have supported Carey Baptist Grammar School with many upgrades over the years. With education becoming more and more digital every day, the demand for tech support continues to surge. They were struggling to provide the required IT support within their existing space. They reached out for our assistance.

Carey’s existing Help Desk only accommodated two support staff across two long desks, an arrangement that couldn’t keep up with growing demand. Their ICT Department was similarly constrained, with cubicle-style workstations, scattered desks, and a few enclosed offices. The layout limited collaboration and made poor use of the space.

We began by analysing how the teams worked, identifying pinch points, and mapping out what was needed for a more efficient workflow. This helped us form a strategy that would resolve immediate challenges while also setting the school up for future growth.

We redesigned the Help Desk area to include a dedicated office for the support team and an open help counter where students could access assistance more easily. We added generous benchtop space and integrated all necessary digital equipment for a seamless finish. Glass partitions and a natural palette made the space feel more open, modern, and student-friendly.

In the ICT Department, we replaced the old cubicles with open-plan ergonomic workstations that encourage collaboration. We then repurposed the freed-up space to include a new meeting room and a breakout area with a kitchen. An operable wall separates the two zones, allowing the school to use them flexibly, as a breakout space or a larger space for events.

We delivered a space that enhances both functionality and user experience. The new layout supports a smoother workflow for the IT team and provides a more accessible environment for students seeking support. By improving spatial efficiency and creating a modern, cohesive design, we helped Carey establish a workspace that meets today’s demands and is ready for tomorrow’s challenges.
